Stone's Throw Malbec 2024

Quintessentially Australian, this range offers consistent quality, hugely appealing wine styles that have gained a loyal following. Samantha Bailey brings her signature palate and decades of experience to finessing components into the loveliest expressions of Oz. A dark, aromatic Malbec with succulent and spicy characters. Darkly appealing, chocolatey with an abundance of crisp, minerally fruit and Morello cherry compote.  £13.25

Malblanc, White Malbec, Luis Felipe Edwards 2024

Something a bit different from Chile using Malbec and Gerwurztraminer grapes. Displaying a steely white colour and delicate coppery highlights, this wine reveals an expressive nose full of aromas of green apple, citrus fruits, fresh lychee and gentle notes of white flowers that lend it an elegant delicacy. On the palate, it unfolds fresh and light, with a perfectly balanced medium acidity, contributing a vibrant juiciness and accentuating its refreshing essence.  £11.49

Seasonal perfection

Viña Salort Albariño 2024 and Viña Salort Reserva Tannat 2022

It was 1904 when Carlos Domingo Traversa and his parents arrived in Uruguay. The son of Italian immigrants, he spent his youth as a vineyard worker and in 1937, together with his wife, María Josefa Salort, he was able to purchase 5 hectares of land in Montevideo, in a region providing optimum conditions for growing vines.

The red - This intense red Tannat with violet hues has a leathery, blackberry jam bouquet that slowly arises once the wine is served. The typical tannins of the variety, rounded by its time aged in barrels, can be tasted in mouth  £14.99

The white - Classic Albariño aromas predominate with herbal notes intertwined with stone fruits and citrus; textural and rounded on the palate with a little grip on the finish and rich, flavoursome fruit cut through with refreshing acidity.  £14.99

Valpolicella Classico Ripasso `Campolieti` Righetti 2023
Located in the heart of Valpolicella, Righetti is a small, family owned estate which has been producing wine since 1999 “Campolieti” means “happy fields,” reflecting both the joy the Righetti family takes in cultivating the vineyard and the delight many customers experience upon their first taste of this Ripasso Valpolicella.

Ripe strawberry, red cherry and plum aromas with hints of leather, autumn leaves and sweet spices. The palate is medium-bodied, vibrantly fruity with soft, smooth tannins.  £16.99

Join us at Leith Market on 18 April. Dock Place, Edinburgh, 12 - 4pm.  We'll have a fabulous range of our vegan wines, beers and spirits available, including some wines to taste.

Don't forget, if you'd like to place an order online you can collect it from us at the Market, saving you the delivery charge! Just order and select 'collection' then drop us an e-mail to let us know you're collecting at Leith Market.

Perfect seasonal wines to enjoy this April...

Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rosé, 2024

Villa Wolf has a young, dynamic team at the helm, made up of Patrick Moellendorf and Sumi Gebauer. Both under the age of thirty, they were put in charge of the winemaking at Villa Wolf in 2011.  This German Pinot Noir Rosé is light and refreshing, with deliciously bright berry and red fruit flavours and a clean, zippy finish.  £12.99

Produttori Di Manduria, Aka Charme Rosato Spumante Brut, IGT, Puglia, Italy, 2024

Produttori di Manduria had been making wines for 40 years by then, unashamedly proud of their deep affection for Primitivo. Sourced from 100% Primitivo vines aged 20–40 years, this fruit is grown using the traditional espalier training system to optimise sunlight exposure and ripening consistency.  Harvested at the end of August, the vineyard delivers an average yield of 120 quintals per hectare (12,000 kg), ensuring both concentration and freshness in the resulting wine. This sparkling Primitivo has lively effervescence and excellent acidity bring remarkable freshness, while its softness and balanced structure make it beautifully harmonious and unmistakably fragrant—an effortlessly appealing choice for consumers seeking elegance with a modern, uplifting character.  £17.99

We're excited to once again host our fun-size 1 hour wine tastings throughout August as part of the Edinburgh Fringe. These 'taster tastings' easily fit in to your festival schedule. But there's still enough time to enjoy tasting four wines and improve your wine knowledge while you're at it! You'll receive a top up of your favourite wine at the end.  These tastings take place in the heart of historic Edinburgh, very close to Edinburgh bus station and Edinburgh Waverley train station.

Various dates throughout August at 4-5pm or 6-7pm. Just £20 per person.
