New wines perfect to enjoy this month!
Canto Do Pedro Reserva Old Vines, Fiuza 2023
The Mascarenhas Fiuza family has been dedicated to winemaking for over a century. The company started its activity at the beginning of the 20th century and remains family-run to this day, now in its third generation. Mr. Joaquim Mascarenhas Fiuza, son of D. Luísa Mascarenhas (sister of the 10th Marquis of Fronteira and 9th Marquis of Alorna) started producing wine with his uncle on the properties of the Mascarenhas Fiuza Family, who has had estates in the region for centuries. In 1986, Joaquim Mascarenhas Fiuza established a partnership with prestigious Australian winemaker Peter Bright.
This award winning wine is fantastic to enjoy alongside hearty stews and vegan cheese: "Intense ruby, with black fruit with hints of violets, cacao and spices on the nose. Deep palate with soft tannins and well-balanced structure. Long and persistent finish." £11.99
indomita, Nostros Pinot Noir Reserva, Casablanca, Chile, 2025
Aña Indómita occupies a truly spectacular location, between Santiago and Valparaíso in the heart of Casablanca, with an imposing house and a hillside sign that wouldn’t look out of place in Hollywood. Yet within this setting is a dynamic winemaking team and one of the most exciting winemaking projects in Chile. Environmental sustainability and social responsibility are taken seriously, with measures taken to minimise waste water and energy consumption alongside ventures to create local employment across both winemaking and wine tourism.
This wine is made from Casablanca fruit which was fermented in tank at a cool temperature to retain those beautiful aromatics. Pair this wine with ratatouille, vegan sausages, vegan meatballs and lentil dishes: "Intense, deep colour. Aromas of red and black wild berries, truffle, paprika, pepper and clove. The round and silky body so characteristic of ripe Pinot Noir offers a pleasant, persistent and full experience." £10.99
My Vegan Valentine
Here are our Vegan Tipples recommendations for celebrating L.O.V.E this Valentine's...
Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Rosé 2024
"The aromas of rose petals and red berries dominate the nose and reveal its red grape origins. The mousse is fine and enthusiastic and brings out the floral and yeasty aromas in the mouth. A mouth-filling roundness on the palate shows ample fresh fruit intensity and body which is perfectly balanced by a subtle acid structure that leads to a crisp and refreshing dry finish. A wine to celebrate your most romantic moments." £16.95
Georges Gardet Rosé Brut
"Fresh and bright on the palate. The sparkling wine reveals its bold structure with flavours of strawberries and raspberries. This then gives way to hints of pink grapefruit and orange peel followed by spicy notes." £42.95
Mothers Day - 15th March
Say it with wine this Mother's Day...
Château L'Escarelle, Les deux Anges Rosé, AOP Côteaux Varois en Provence, 2024
"Subtle and elegant with wild strawberry and citrus fruit on the nose. The palate is clean and fresh with beautiful smoothness and mango and pomelo notes." £17.75
Perelada, Stars Touch of Rosé, DO Cava, Spain, 2022
"Delicate pink in colour. Bright and limpid. Its fine bubbles detach, forming a crown on the surface. Its aroma is clean, floral and fruity, long lasting and elegant. Complex on the palate, fruity, smooth, silky, with excellent balance." £13.99
Nooh Still Rosé
Get this super-popular no alcohol wine while you can! This will no longer be imported to the UK from March!
"A brightly aromatic nose, combining watermelon, citrus and rose floral characters with a hint of jasmine. The taste brings forward more melon and strawberry flavours with a zingy tang of grapefruit on the finish." £19.99
