Through the grapevine...

As spring starts to well & truly spring forth, after perhaps the longest winter known to man, we're delighted to be able to bring you the monthly news from #VeganTipples, including details of our fantastic new spring mixed cases and some fabulous ideas for Mother's Day gifts (which we're sure will be appreciated by Mothers or important women in your life, whether they're vegan or not!)...

Mother's Day, 14 March
Look no further than the Vegan Tipples website for some inspired gift ideas for the Mum or special woman in your life who deserves feeling spoilt this Mother's Day!
You'll know whether your Mum prefers wine, sparkles, beer or gin, so browse through www.vegantipples.co.uk to find that special bottle.
But if you're looking an idea then how about something very special with the Champagne Drappier Rose Brut?  This is £39.50 a bottle but it's a fine bottle indeed: "A beautifully balanced style of rosé: elegant yet full of character. Pretty red berry aromas lead to a delicate palate of summer fruit and herbs, finishing crisply dry and refreshing."

New organic wines

Chateau Guiraud Sauternes 2016
This is a joyous bottle of wine which will pair well with vegan terrine & vegan blue cheeses: “Luxurious, a real joy to crack open and share. Rich dried honey, orange blossom nose. Long almond and orange and vanilla finish.”

Rose D`Anjou, Chateau De La Roulerie 2019
A fantastic wine which can, of course, be drunk on its own or with light vegan meals and tomato based pasta dishes: "The bouquet is of raspberries and strawberries, really delicious off dry style with a hint of liquorice and toffee."

Domaine Francois Crochet, Sancerre Rose, Loire, France, 2019
A fine bottle to drink with spicy Asian fayre & Moroccan Tajine: "Pale Salmon pink colour, very fine notes of fresh red fruits on the nose which is continued on the well balanced palate."

St. Patrick's Day, 17 March

Looking for something different to try to celebrate? Whilst WooHa Brewing Company is Scottish, it is dedicated to making great tasting bottle and KeyKeg conditioned beer and sharing it across the globe. So of course you can enjoy it whilst raising a glass to Ireland & all things Irish!
Using expertly blended malts, balanced flavours and cold, clear Scottish water, WooHa produces a range of award winning ales and lager using traditional methods with a twist.
We recommend you give WooHa Rauch N' Roll Porter a try this St. Patrick's Day:  "Lightly hopped using Phoenix hops from the UK. Rich chocolate and coffee flavours which are wrapped in a mouth filling smokiness provided by the German Rauch malt. Dark as night, with a smooth aftertaste.'

International Women's Day, 8 March

It's worth raising a glass of this Sauvignon Gris, Estero Vineyard, Casa Marin, 2019 to mark International Women's Day this year.  Winemaker, Maria Luz Marin, had to fight to be allowed to plant her vineyards in Lo Abarca.  Fortunately, this is someone who did not take 'no' for an answer and went on to achieve numerous first throughout her celebrated career.  The first vintage of the Sauvignon Blanc was heralded by Parker as the best white wine made in South America.
This Sauvignon Gris will not disappoint: "Powerful floral and spicy aromas with a touch of pink grapefruit. The palate is ripe and mouth filling, with a touch of smoky French oak, floral characters and fresh grape, asparagus flavours. Flavours linger on the palate and the fresh acidity ensures a crisp clean impeccable finish."
