Friday 1 May is International Sauvignon Blanc Day, so order now to toast bank holiday in style.  Of course, we have a great choice of Sauvignon Blanc to recommend...

PĀ Road Sauvignon Blanc 2024

Perfectly enjoyed paired with salads: "Attractive floral aromatics with notes of citrus, lemongrass, passionfruit and guava. The lemon zest and passionfruit theme carries through the palate, supported by delicate black currant and aniseed notes. The finish is crisp and clean with hints of lingering spice and touch of chalky minerality."  £14.99

Petit Bourgeois Sauvignon Blanc VDP 2022
Pairs perfectly with lighter dishes and green vegetables. This aromatic side allows it to be combined with sweet and savoury flavours. It will go perfectly with dishes with flavours of candied lemon or saffron:  "This wine is full of expressive flavours from this area - fresh and zippy citrus notes with a light floral touch and a dash of minerality. A "baby Sancerre" that over-delivers, with a stunning long finish."  £18.25

Seasonal perfection

Produttori Di Manduria, Zin, IGT, Puglia, Italy, 2024

Perfect with tofu and tempeh with grilled vegetables: "Bright straw yellow colour. There's intensity on the nose in aromas of peach, melon, herbs and pine, which translate to the ripe, medium-bodied palate. Warm and soft, zesty acidity on the palate accompanied by a nice freshness. Pleasant floral note that persists on the finish".  £15.25

Indomita, Nostros Pinot Noir Reserva, Casablanca, Chile, 2025
This wonderful wine pairs well with ratatouille, vegan sausages and dishes with lentils: “Intense, deep colour. Aromas of red and black wild berries, truffle, paprika, pepper and clove. The round and silky body so characteristic of ripe Pinot Noir offers a pleasant, persistent and full experience.”  £10.99

Spring and summer = Chardonnay season! Find out what Chardonnay delights we have in store for you to toast International Chardonnay Day on 21 May!

Montsablé, Chardonnay, IGP Haute Vallée de L'Aude, France, 2024
The wines of Terres Fidèles are designed to express the spirit of this extraordinary place – old-vine Grenache, Carignan, Malbec, Cinsault, Viognier and more.  All are authentically crafted, small-batch wines of the wilds. As Fergal Tynan MW, founder, explains: “Over the last two decades, we’ve been creating wines in the wilds of south-western France – embarking on adventures; exploring, discovering and rediscovering remarkable places and vineyard sites. From the foothills and valleys beneath the iconic Pyrenees, out through the gorges to the coastal areas of the Mediterranean, we’ve journeyed with our friends – exceptional growers who excel at their craft and have an inherent respect for the land that they and theirs are a part of. It is these people and places that inspire our winemaking.”
This is a very versatile Chardonnay, a great match for a wide range of vegan dishes:  "Bright pale golden colour, with scents of wild flower and notes of white fruit such as apricot and peach and a fresh citrus finish. rounded off nicely with a touch of well integrated oak."

Jordan Barrel Chardonnay 2021
Gary and Kathy Jordan have been making world-class wines since 1993 on a farm with a history going back over 300 years. He’s a geologist, she’s an economist – together this husband and wife team is a phenomenon. Gary’s parents, Ted and Sheelagh, bought the 146-hectare Stellenbosch property in 1982, and embarked on an extensive replanting programme, specializing in classic varieties suited to the different soils and slopes. From the Jordan hillside vineyards one has spectacular panoramic views of Table Mountain, False Bay and Stellenbosch. Their focus is on producing fiercely individual wines that combine the fruity accessibility of the New World with the Classic Elegance of the Old.  This buttery textured wine would pair well with rich creamy dishes.

"A powerful expression of Chardonnay, brimming with fruit flavour and elegance. Bold and graceful with fragrances of lemon biscuit and overripe oranges. A buttery toastiness from the oak rounds off the complex hazelnut and citrus flavours."  £19.99

We're excited to once again host our fun-size 1 hour wine tastings throughout August as part of the Edinburgh Fringe.  These 'taster tastings' easily fit in to your festival schedule.
