Uvam, Pinot Grigio, IGT , Biscardo, Mabis, 2022, 75cl
About
The Biscardo Family have been making wine from their base in Soave for over 150 years and are currently led by brothers Maurizio and Martino. During the course of Maurizio's long and illustrious career, he has consulted for well known wineries around Italy and in doing so he came across the vineyards for their Puglian wines. Both the Pugliese and Veneto wines are characterised by an almost dangerous drinkability, aromatic purity and exceptional value for money. Viticulture- This Pinot Grigio comes from vines which are 10-15 years old, part grown on the plain with limestone subsoil, and the rest on the slopes and terraces of the surrounding hills. This particular location gives the wine a delicate minerality, important structure and typical floral fragrances. Winemaking- The grapes are hand harvested and then placed in wooden cases - this is usually done at dawn or late in the evening to avoid the intense heat of the day. Clusters picked during fresh hours remain intact meaning that there is no risk of fermentation starting during transport. Once the grapes arrive at the winery, they are pressed immediately and the must is then fermented in controlled temperature stainless steel tanks. No oak Treatment.
